Trip to Thailand and Vipassana retreat October 2026 with Adi Ichsan and Mae Chee Brigitte

22 October|14:00 - 11 November|11:00

Vipassana meditation retreat in Thailand – October 22nd – November 11th 2026

This year, a special activity is being organized by Siti Ichsan: a 3-week trip to Thailand, of which 2 weeks will be a Vipassana retreat.

A 2-week Vipassana meditation retreat will be organized from October 22 to November 11, guided by Adi Ichsan and MaeChee Brigitte.

Brief description:

  • a few days getting acquainted with and/or looking around Bangkok
  • 2-week retreat and
  • concluding with a few days visiting a Thai temple to celebrate the Kathana ceremony and, finally,
  • visiting a beautiful tropical island.

The trip is intended, among others, for people who want to get acquainted with the practice of Vipassana meditation in Thailand and who would not easily get around to doing so on their own.

This is the first time such a trip with a retreat is being organized, but it is highly recommended.

For whom: the retreat is open to both beginners and advanced meditators.

  • For beginners, you must have completed at least a Vipassana introductory course in the tradition of Mahasi Sayadaw or have comparable experience, to be assessed by the teacher.
  • For people who are not yet familiar with Dhammadipa and/or Adi Ichsan, a short intake interview is required, physically or via Zoom.

Guidance:

Tradition and practice: the tradition of Mahasi Sayadaw.

Within the tradition of Mahasi Sayadaw, intensive practice is carried out primarily by alternating between sitting and walking exercises. In this retreat, practice is 24 hours a day (including sleeping). You practice mindfulness in sitting, walking, standing, and lying positions, and during all other activities such as eating, brushing teeth, etc. Consequently, the practice is uninterrupted, relaxed, and natural.

Facilities:

  • You have your own room, but we also practice together in the meditation hall during the day and evening, alternating between sitting and walking. There is a Dhamma talk every evening, and you have a short conversation (interview) with the teacher every day.
  • The location is very suitable for intensive meditation practice.
  • The food is vegetarian. Dietary requirements can be accommodated within reasonable limits.

Registration:

  • If you are interested, send an email to info@dhammadipa.nl and you will be sent further information and a registration form. Read carefully, fill out, sign, and email.
  • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis upon receipt of the completed registration form.

If you have questions or would like to coordinate in advance, please contact us via info@dhammadipa.nl.

General details:

  • Date: October 22nd – November 11th, 2026
  • Number of participants: maximum 12.
  • Dana: at the end of the retreat, there will be an opportunity to give dana for the teachings and/or to the Dhammadipa Foundation.
