Vipassana meditation Cittanupassana weekend 5 – 6 July – Adi Ichsan – day 1

5 July|10:00 - 18:00

Special Vipassana meditation Cittanupassana weekend in Samana, Droogbak 11, Amsterdam.

Adi Ichsan will be giving a Cittanupassana (establishing observation on active consciousness) weekend retreat with a preparatory stage of recognizing infinite space (akasanancayatana) and recognizing the mind element (mano).

In Theravada dhamma the mind (nama) is composed by space element and the mind element, just as the body (rupa) is composed by the 4 tactile elements (earth, air, water and fire). Therefore, possessing the ability to recognize and experience the space element and mind element will make it easier for a yogi to distance; objectivate; and detach identification with thoughts, ideas, perceptions, mind states and mind objects that appear in the yogi’s realm of consciousness. In turn this detachment with the own mind will enable the yogi to realize quicker the three characteristics of the active consciousness, and if supported by wholesome merit may give a chance to see and experience the end (vaya) of conscious awareness (viññana).

The weekend is advised as suitable for yogis with longer cittanupassana training or experienced Mahasi style vipassana yogis. It is not recommended for beginners nor curiosity seekers.

Those who have practiced cittanupassana but have difficulty in making distancing from the content of their own thoughts and ideas, are advised to join this practice.

Registration is required.

Please note the advice to prevent respiratory infections

From our point of view on buddhist ethics respiratory infections are a risk for teachers and participants as well as for those present to contaminate others. In this we have chosen to follow the guidelines of the government. See https://www.government.nl/topics/coronavirus-covid-19/tackling-new-coronavirus-in-the-netherlands/preventing-respiratory-infections.

Following the advice below helps limit the spread of viruses that cause respiratory infections. This helps protect everyone, including people with health concerns.

Advice

Coughing, sneezing, a sore throat and a stuffy or runny nose are signs of respiratory infection.

  1. Stay at home if you are ill.
  2. If your symptoms are mild, stay at home or do a selftest of good quality, with negative result and max 24 hours before the meditation activity. In case of doubt a new selftest is mandatory, which will be provided by Dhammadipa.
  3. If you have symptoms, avoid physical contact with people who could become seriously ill from a cold or flu virus. Wear a face mask if physical contact is necessary, for example, when providing care.
